EMMET COUNTY ROAD COMMISSION
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
MY 24, 2012


The Board of Emmet County Road Commissioners will hold a public hearing at its offices in Harbor Springs at 8:15 a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2012, for the purposes of discussing the proposed improvements to the following roads in Bear Creek Township:

1. Country Club Road, from Boyer Road to Fletcher Road for a total of 1.44 miles
- Improvements include pavement pulverization, gravel,
intersection concrete curbing, and repaving with hot-mix asphalt

2. Vis A Vis, from Bellmer Road then west for a total of .22 miles.
- Improvements include pavement removal, earth
excavation, gravel and repaving with hot-mix asphalt

All written comments must be received prior to the public hearing at the Emmet County Road Commission Offices located at 2265 E. Hathaway Road, Harbor Springs, Michigan 49740, or e-mail at emmetcrc@emmetcrc.com

May 14, 2012
Meeting called to order by Leonard Zakrzewski, Supervisor.
Full board present.
Motion approved the minutes of April 9, 2012
Motion approved the Financial Report for month ending April 30, 2012
Motion refused the right to purchase tax foreclosed property.
Motion approved hiring Tom Towne to fix the damaged siding at library.
Motion approved hiring Willcome Tree Service to remove trees at cemetery.
Motion approved sealing the cemetery fence.
Motion approved purchasing radios, air hammer kit, and new jaws of life equipment for fire department.
Motion approved education for two EMTs.
Motion paid the bills.
Motion adjourned the meeting.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TO REVOKE A
NATURAL BEAUTY ROAD
DESIGNATION ON PORTION
OF ADDIS ROAD

In accordance with the provisions of Act 451 of 1994, Part 357 Natural Beauty Roads, MCL 324.35701, et seq.

Boyne Valley Township has requested that the Charlevoix County Road Commission revoke the designation of a portion of Addis Road as a Natural Beauty road from US-131 to the township transfer station, totaling 1,650 feet or 0.31 mile in Sections 9 & 10, T32N R5W, Boyne Valley Township. The request is to allow for the proposed upgrading and paving of this portion of Addis Road.

The Charlevoix County Road Commission Board will hold a public hearing on the above described request at 7:00 pm Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Boyne Valley Township Hall located at 2489 Railroad Street, Boyne Falls, MI 49713. The Charlevoix County Road Commission Board will accept written comments until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at their 1251 Boyne Avenue, P.O. Box 39, Boyne City, MI 49712 office location.

Late comments will not be accepted.

Garage/Yard Sales, Political, Real Estate, and Open Houses
SIGN REGULATIONS


No Signs Are Allowed on Road Right-of-Way

The following regulations apply to the display of all garage/yard sale, auction, political, real estate, open houses, and related signs.

€ These signs shall not exceed 6 square feet per face, shall not have
more than two faces, or be placed higher than 4 feet from ground
level.
€ These signs shall be limited to 1 sign per property per street/road
frontage.
€ No more than two off premise signs shall be permitted and only with
permission of the other property owner.

€ These signs shall be setback at least 5 feet from the front property
line.
€ Signs shall be removed within 24 hours of the event.
Signs in the road right-of-way will be removed to the Township
Hall at the owner’s expense, and may be retrieved prior to disposal
after 30 days.
€ Repeat offenders may receive citations.
